JEREME OUTERLEYS, MASc
Engineer
jereme.outerleys@gmail.com
Linkedin | ResearchGate | CSB2018 Halifax
Degrees:
Bachelor of Applied Science, Engineering and Human Biology, Acadia University, 2010
Bachelor of Engineering, Biological Engineering, Dalhousie University, 2012
Master of Applied Science, Biomedical Engineering, Dalhousie University, 2017
Clinical Interests & Background
Jereme is interested in applying his biomechanics research background to running and sports biomechanics and broaden his knowledge base. His interest is driven by incorporating lab and evidence-based biomechanical research into the clinical environment, in order to provide better tools for clinical decision making.
Outside the Lab
Jereme spends most of his time outside the lab planning his next trip, enjoying food, and staying physically active (ideally in the hockey rink).
CALEB JOHNSON, PHD
Post-doctoral Research Fellow
cdj9825@gmail.com
Degrees:
BS, Kinesiology, Pennsylvania State University, 2012
MEd, Health, Physical Activity and Chronic Disease, University of Pittsburgh, 2014
PhD, Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, 2018
Clinical Interests & Background:
Caleb’s background is in musculoskeletal injury prevention in military populations and the application of perceptual-motor control to injury prevention and human performance. His current interests center on identifying risk factors for running-related musculoskeletal injuries and the ways in which these risk factors inform clinical practice in an effort to treat/prevent injury. Further, he is interested in the use of wearable sensors to identify changes in running behaviors when individuals are moved from the clinic/laboratory to real-world environments.
Outside the Lab:
Caleb’s hobbies include: traveling and experiencing other cultures, outdoor activities, playing and watching sports, woodworking, and playing piano.
ERIN FUNTRELL, PT, OCS
Doctoral Research Fellow
efutrell@mghihp.edu
Degrees:
Bachelor of Science, Exercise Science, Georgia State University, 2003
Master of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy, Georgia State University, 2007
Clinical Interests & Background
Erin is interested in biomechanical factors that contribute to injury, and injury-prevention strategies that can be applied in a physical therapy setting. She is studying gait retraining interventions to reduce impacts associated with running.
Outside the Lab
Erin enjoys spending time with her family and participating in athletic adventures. She enjoys running, cycling, climbing, paddling, hiking, snowboarding, golfing, and swimming. She is a fan of triathlons, obstacle course races, relay races, staying fit by playing, and is open to any type of unconventional athletic activity. She is an all-weather bike commuter.
